In a previous thread I asked for suggestions about a move to VoIP and based on this signed up to a 2talk account and purchased a DP750/720 phone.

Set up was pretty easy, and I was all go after about 30 mins. Not sure if call quality is as good as I expected, but its ok.

The move to a VoIP phone has had created one unexpected problem - I keep losing the handset around the house, back of the sofa, etc etc. This isn't new - same thing happened with my old phones too, but they had a handy "page the handset" button on the base unit.

The DL750/20 has a page function, but it's only exposed via the web interface - not exactly "family friendly". I would think that this must be a reasonably common occurrence with these phones and wondered if anyone had created a "find my phone" App which makes the appropriate web calls to activate the "paging" function. It's beyond me, but I would have thought not too difficult if you were that way inclined.

My quick scan hasn't shown me anything so far...

Cheers,

dave

That's an option, but due to poor cell coverage can only dial out from one position in the house.

Was hoping for something more family friendly.

It's a bit late now to recommend something better (the Yealink's are a far better phone and have a page button). If you can't call your phone then you're probably out of options short of moving to a PBX and registering the phone locally so you could use multicast paging.

Get a second handset, and as long as you only loose one you could call it from the other.
