Can anyone advise if the 2degrees sourced Fritz!Box 7490 will work with Vodafone VoIP & if so what if any settings will need to be changed ?

I am wanting to change over from the HG659 as the VoIP occasionally drops out & the modem needs to be rebooted to restore the phone line.

I'd expect if it does work it will be iffy.

Your likely better off using the Fritzbox as a RGW and then sticking the HG659b as a "client device" behind the Fritzbox.

This should work fine.

RGW ? I am trying to replace the HG659 because of the iffy VoIP.

Surely using two devices to replace one potentially introduces more potential issues.

Can you elabolate about RGW & where would the phone line be connected ?

The answer is no.

Something to do with SIP settings, and Vodafone SIP being only via the Vodafone provided modem.

From Vodafone - You need to use either a white Vodafone HG659 wireless modem or a dark grey Vodafone Ultra Hub modem.

One suggest I have seen is to put the Vodafone modem in bridging mode and have the second modem "piggyback" off of it.
