Until today, I have used a Linksys PAP2 ATA for 2Talk VOIP. This provides both caller ID phone Number and Name. When I enable 2Talk in the VOIP facility on a HG659b, the attached phone will only display the incoming phone number - no name is displayed. I have tried both Panasonic cordless phones and a Uniden wired phone - both display "Names" when connected to the PAP2.

The caller ID (number only) also takes much longer to display from the start of ringing, from the HG659b as compared to the PAP2.

Can anyone confirm they have had "Name" caller ID's from the HG659b? If so, is there any specific setting you had to make for this to work? I believe I have the latest firmware (V100R001C227B022), modem was delivered today!

last i checked the VoIP functionality wasn't even shipped with sparks firmware?

Do you possibly have the Bigpipe firmware?

Well the modem came straight from Spark today. VOIP worked as soon as I put the 2Talk parameters in. I'm still on ADSL - I have read people have had issues with VOIP not working on the HG659b with VDSL (I'll be able to test that in a week).

Confirming what others have found with the HG659b internal VOIP over VDSL; the combination doesn't work (on Sparks B022 firmware).

Was switched over from ADSL to VDSL today. Tried enabling the internal VOIP in the HG659b (which worked fine on ADSL - apart from the incomplete Caller ID). VOIP led on the HG659b flashes continuously, line status for the phone shows as offline and the phone has an interrupted tone instead of a dial tone. So it's back to the PAP2 until there's a new HG695b firmware to try...

As spark don't do voip over the hg659b, your experience is unlikely to change.

It simply isn't a feature that is required. Unless it not working relates to an actual issue with the base firmware and not the customization done for spark.
