Hi all,

Not very familiar with best practice for router configuration with a VoIP setup, and was wondering with your average modem, in this case a DV130, is there much that can be done to optimize VoIP traffic, or is a more advanced router with decent QoS etc really required?

I would always make sure SIP ALG is disabled, but other than that I'm not too sure what else would normally be done.

Thanks!

Ensure you have the most recent firmware loaded.

Go to Bandwith Management, Quality of Service

Check the box beside Enable the First Priority for VoIP SIP/RIP

Ensure SIP UDP Port is set to 5060 and apply by pressing OK

No backup, no pity. Anyway, RAID isn't one.
