Hi-

This is my first post. I have a SPA122 ATA. Does anyone know if this will work on slingshot fibre homeline? The problem that I am having is that it will not register. I have double checked my information that slingshot have given me, with no success. I have a dial tone, but cannot ring out or receive calls. Keeps coming up with failed registration. Have read forum dating back to march this year that someone got the spa122 working on slingshot. I have spoken to slingshot tech guys ( 4 different people ) and no one can help.

Any help would be great.

Outbound calling doesn't need registration. It's not used for that.

Outbound calling only needs a working SIP server IP (or server-name, and a working DNS), and a working username and a password...

OK, so does it need to register before any calls can be made? if so, then my problem is that the spa122 will not register to slingshot.

What am I doing wrong? and are there steps I need to get right before spa122 registers?

I have entered username and password, and phone number.

There are about 30 settings required to be set to configure a SPA122 optimally - the number will differ slightly depending on your RSP and their SIP stack.

Due to the complexities your best approach would be to find a RSP who offers full autoprovisioning of hardware.

You can also try from any softphone just a quick thing. See if that works. Someone said registration is not required to make outbound calls, if this is the case then just put the SIP server name , username & password. See if that works. Try eyebeam it also have log option so you can clearly see what's happening. It might not even reaching to the sling shot's SIP server who knows.
