Hello,

I have an ATA186, and I want to configure it for 2Talk. I can find only some of the fields I need in the config interface.

Has anyone had experience with these and where to set the username and password for 2talk, for instance?

I have a slingshot router (192.168.1.1)

I have the ATA ip address (192.168.1.23)

Here's what the config page says:

`

UseTFTP

0

TFTPURL

sip.2talk.co.nz

AltTFTPFURL

StaticIP

StaticNetMask

DNS2IP

8.8.4.4

OpFlags

There's no dial tone on the Phone 1 port. I can't find where to put my username and password.

Can you give me a pointer or two?

@sbiddle can probably confirm this...

But I'm quite certain there isnt SIP firmware for these old units. They were purely CUCM devices so only support SCCP - Cisco's own protocol. The proper config is done entirely with config files from the CUCM server. So I think you might be pushing p1ss up hill with a rake here.

These days you can buy loads of other really good ATA's for around the $50 that will support SIP and probably have a handful of other handy features. The yeastar ta100 for example, or grandstream HT series.

Its been a looooooong time since I have used one of these, i believe after entering the IP in a browser put /dev to get into the section where you set that stuff

SIP firmware is available for the ATA186 and all if you are running sip firmware its http://ipaddress/dev

You are so right: the config is all about SCCP.

My recommendation is to spend $30 and but a proper ATA like a Cisco SPA

There is SIP firmware available for these units but it's not really worth the effort, they're still an old school device that is pretty average by modern standards.
