Anyone know which DC they co-locate their equipment in?
Did they move in with Vocus NZ when they were sold?

They claim to have 'isolated' the issue... So they might be installing a new hamster wheel now.

Multiple locations in Auckland and also a cluster in Wellington too I believe (and specifically to avoid situations like this I suspect...).

Poor buggers, just when they were settling down for a well-earned holiday! :(

I know just like every other provider they expect they're services to be fully online and operating all the time. Based on your suggestion of a multi homed site.. Must be a core routing item that went offline. Hope they are willing to publicly provide a report into what went down.
