Hello

I am with Trustpower for my mobile but they do not offer an international phone add on to the UK.

I am looking for an app or service to make phone calls to a UK landline from my mobile.

I can not use Facebook or similar I just want to use it to make a call to a UK landline from my mobile.

Is there something reasonable and good quality out there ?

Ta

Yes you can buy credit with Skype that lasts for six months, more if you keep using it. For a small fee you can also buy a Skype number that friends can call you on. If your friend has Skype you can call for free.

Make sure to open the 'view more' drop down menu below the prices and which is not very noticeable.

@beenz

Warehouse mobile allows you to call the UK with your existing allocation of voice minutes.

I just found this which looks half the price of skype.

Never seen it or used it before but wonder if anyone knows about it

If you don't use loads skinny is pretty cheap for a by the minute rate out of any credit, just a couple of cents I think. Not ideal needing a second sim card and number but at least you wouldn't need a monthly plan with them to make the calls and can just use credit as and when you need to.

I have a VOIP line with Slingshot iTalk (Grandfathered Plan) which gives me 500 minutes to 30-40 odd countries for $11.95 p/m

I think Hero and others do something similar - any SIP app works with them

Hero gets my vote - also cheaper thank 2talk and you can get a UK number if you want for incoming calls. Better than Skype (and cheaper). There is support too, unlike Skype.
