Hi,

I am setting up a lab to test 2Talks 'DirectoR' with MS Teams.

I thought it would be prudent to set up a new account with two numbers, so as not to screw up my production network. Easy - so I thought!

Well, I got the account set up and registered two phones on a 2Talk10 plan.

Problem - I can call one phone from the other using the assigned extensions 100 and 200. I can call inbound using the allocated phone numbers from another 2talk account (on 3cx) to both phones.

But - I cannot call an external number - I get the message "Your call cannot be completed as dialled. Please check the number and dial again'.

Seems there must be a switch somewhere to allow outbound calls -  Can anyone help me? And yes - I have logged a ticket with 2Talk....

I know this is probably not related to the Teams integartion - and was happening before I started on that....but I really wantto have a working platform before I introduce more complexity.

FYI: These are the services I have set up - and they are shown as registered in the portal...

Perhaps check your MS Teams settings in the admin part and see if the outbound routing is adding or stripping any digits. The message you are hearing is a generic “this number is wrong and unrouteable” and will be coming from 2talk not teams. Which is what makes me think that teams is not sending the correct digits to 2talk

Just a stab in the dark here - but on the off chance that you registered an 028 or 0800 number as the test number and you happen to be dialing a local-calling number as your test destination you would then need to add the LICA prefix (eg 03 for a South Island landline).

Thanks,

But this behaviour was exhibited even before I started to play with Teams...really want to be able to make a call from a standard VOIP phone successfully before playing with Teams! You are correct it is definitely a 2Talk issue..

Cheers

@speed - Thanks - but all numbers are vanilla 09 93204 XXX and I am calling (and dialling) 09 5354 XXX

I have also tried dialling +6495354XXX .... 195354XXX.... 995354XXX just in case I needed to open use an external modifier (Remember when you needed to dial 1 for an outside line)

If I call inbound from an 021 cell - no problem...

Looks like a dial plan type issue but cant see where that can be modified in the 2Talk dashboard..

Are you using a soft phone or a device?

It does sound like a dial plan problem but if that's the case it should be configured on your termimal software/device.

@freitasm: Two physical devices: Yealink T27G and Yealink T46G... hopefully 2Talk will respond in the morning...
I also provisioned the phone directly from the 2talk provisioning server and had the same result, so dont think I should need to do any other configuration at my end....

Cheers

So, last update tonight:

I downloaded the Bria softphone client and followed 2talks instructions here: https://help.2talk.co.nz/hc/en-gb/articles/360050461091-Bria-Set-Up

Exactly the same result  --- Your call cannot be completed ...yada yada yada...

i will update the thread when I get a fix...

Insert 'egg-on-face' emoji....

Tried Bria Softphone on 4G  - of course it worked.. Previously on wifi..

Then started thinking about SIP trunk and ports and my on-prem 3CX server and firewalls and port forwards in Untangle.......

The answer is in there I am sure.....

Thanks for the constructive comments, hopefully working tomorrow..
