i'm pleased to say that i successfully deployed a few snom IP phones using the snom OCS edition firmware here at OA Systems. These phones are on loan to me from 3bit.

I have each of these phones working concurrently with both Microsoft OCS R2 (line1) and an Elastix Asterisk (line2).  This afternoon I've made several calls over each line and spent an hour and a half in an audio conference with participants in both NZ and the middle east and the phone i was using performed perfectly.

If anyone is considering an OCS deployment but wants the flexibility of a phone that can be used with other SIP back ends these look to be an excellent option for standalone IP desk phones.

Happy to help,

Don't forget to set the second identity (Asterisk) as a failover from the 1st, and vice versa.
This will mean calls go through whether the ocs or asterisk is down, transparantly to the user.

Hmmmm
