Not sure, Its the same as their H323 card, below is the email sent to me from Atlas Gentech.

"I'm happy to say, we are currently supporting 2 ISPs connecting SIP to
24ip

We have tested 24ip with both 2talk and ITtelenet, and can support those
solutions.

Any idea of the price?

Good way of keeping a legacy PBX working but those IP24's really are dogs.. Lots of features but very much the end of an era.

Price is about $800 for 4 Voip lines. your right, they are dogs, After being promissed it would work when I purchased the 24ip, I am now told that I have no room in my system for the card. The point of getting this system was to use Voip. Not happy with LG Aria and Atlas Gentech, ripped off big time!

I'm now looking for a very cheap 20 exten PABX that has built in VoIP. I need a PABX that would use my analog (20 extn) system and provide full VoIP trunks. at present I have 4 Voip lines with 2Talk runing thru Lynksys 2102 ATA's, I would like to use 2Talks's Sip Trunking.
Cheers

HI, I have an Aria 24Ip I would like to upgrade to VOIP.
What did you mean by no room?
What needs to be doen to make room?
Is it because of you expansion cards or a physical flaw?

I wonder if it is worth my while trying or I should just get a  gateway?

Hi rahp, I'm using 2 x SPA-2102's which work OK (I have 4 lines with 2Talk) But I really wanted to use SIP Trunking.

MY Aria 24 is configured with:

1x 8 standard extension card

1x SLIMB 8x expansion extension card bringing total extension count to maximum (24).

1x polarity reversal card

1x caller ID card.

From Atlas Gentech (NZ) Limited

We are currently supporting SIP CO lines connecting to 2Talk.co.nz and to ITtelenet.co.nz

The 24ip will need a VOIM module to provide the IP capability for SIP (VOIM is 4 IP channels, VOIU can be added for another 4 channels)

So any existing 24ip would need to be able to add a module expansion (ie not already using it ? eg for DTIM8 or SLIM8)

Connectivity for 2Talk is via whatever broadband internet connection the customer already has.

ITtelenet I think will service both SIP delivery models ? using ADSL, or providing a dedicated connection where voice quality management is necessary (eg for many voice channels)

This connection and is usage levels dictate call reliability and quality when a DSL style connection is used(the ISP may have more specific data), but all ipLDK?s can apply low bandwidth consuming codec?s to help there.

We have not perused fax over IP yet- we have more voice compatibility to test with other ISPs first.

Cheers

Now that I'm an *active* Geekzone member it just keeps popping up every time I Google :D

We're in the process of ripping out one of these suckers today, the Aria IP24. Back in their day they were a decent PBX, but if you're wanting to use SIP, if you can you're best off going for a pure VoIP solution.
Faxing however is generally left stand-alone, such as for your ADSL Line, as faxing over VoIP with ATA's / T.38 is not as reliable...
I understand the last post was a few weeks ago, but in case anybody else Googles the IP24, maybe my 2c will help :)

Hi silence,
Problem is I run a Motel with 18 units and to install a pure VoIP solution was/is cost prohibitive, the 24ip seemed a good option, until I went to install VoIP and found my system was full and could not be used with VoIP, to say that I feel a bit ripped off is an understatement.

While I realise it's going to cost a lot now to move what options did you investigate for VoIP?

An 18 unit extension doesn't need to be that expensive (obviously would be more than a 24ip) but would give you significant opportunities to save on call costs and also offer a far better billing solution that what's available with the LG.

You could look at options for installing something like a trixbox machine in front which could offer a lot more functionality.

Timing was my big problem, when I acquired the Motel four years ago, there was no computer system in place, in fact the old owners didn?t even have a personal computer. The phone system was thru an old Phillips SBX 25 PABX which was working fine until it was hit by lightning a month or so after I took over. Replacement parts and most important a tech who knew how to fix it were a huge problem. On advice and looking to the future, the 24ip looked good, as it could replace my now dead Phillips within hours. It had provision to upgrade to VoIP, It also had bidirectional communication to my newly installed booking system and billing phone calls to guest?s accounts (using Callista) is brilliant. I have full control as to what I charge and to whom I charge it to.
I also looked into running cat5/6 to all units for internet access but costs were unbelievable so a simple wireless solution works very well. (Also billed using Callista)

Since I installed 4 VoIP lines (thru ATA?s to the 24ip as CO lines) I have cut my call charge rate down to: local and 0800 calls free, National calls .10c per min, international calls also 10c per min, (dependant on country called) mobile calls .30c per min. I found that I am making more money now as guests are using the phones more often because it?s cheaper than other Motels/Hotels and cheaper than using their mobile to ring home, also the costs savings on dropping two telecom lines (line rental alone $54.00 each) adds to my savings.

So I guess I?m stuck with my pseudo VoIP system for at least another 5 years then I will upgrade to a full VoIP system.

Sounds like you've got a reasonably good setup that's obviously working well for you!

The only thing that could possibly deliver some benefits would be a small PBX such as trixbox or a Quadro that could allow you to use multiple VoIP providers, it just depends on whether it would deliver any benefits for what it would cost to install.

One thing that may be of interest to you is the new 3CX PBX software as it has an optional hotel billing plugin option available. I have no idea whether it's compatible with the software you use but it could be an option for a future upgrade if it is compatible.

Something we built ourselves based upon asterisk. Probably quite similar to the trixbox systems that sbiddle mentions, just one of the many different "flavors" of asterisk systems out there ;)

JimBrack, sounds like you're with WxC or iTalk for your calling? Could be worth investigating somebody like 2talk if you're keen to save even more money per-minute, which in turn means customers in your motel are possibly even more likely to use the system which will give you a cent or two more... but I digress, and I've always been a fan of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Same goes for your IP24, if its working and you don't have funds to go pure SIP, then stick to it and enjoy it while it lasts :D

Already with 2Talk. applying a small markup to cover costs.. Corporate clients are charged at 2Talk rates eg 3c national calls, .25c mobile.
A Motel in Wellington charged me $1.50 to dial an outside line then .60c per min for a local call no wonder people don't use phones in motels...
