I have switched to 2 talk and cut off the phone lines - we have warp-speed telstra cable and I am very brave as my wife and I rely heavily on the phone for our businesses -

I have opted to use after trying several devices, a Linksys SPA-2102 and have set it up to the instructions set out by 2talk  -

the phone is OK reliable with good sound quality but I have had some problems with Keying in numbers and I don't here a beep when someone is trying to get through on the other line.

The people at 2talk have a policy it seems they only answer the phone if they can answer it in a few rings unlike Slingshot who put you on hold for 1 to 2 hours ever time you call.

They Have a forum for "solving problems" it got filled up with a boat load of complainers so they stopped any new members from joining.  I for have not received an email to get on to there forum even after being promised that I could over the phone anyway Geekzone is way cooler.

2Talk Faxmail - it works great, but not they way they say that it will. I have found that the only way it will work with any sense of reliability is to not registere the phone number in your ATA device so that all faxes go straight through to an email account - I thus need 2 phone numbers so I can use one number to send faxes which works fine on my brother fax machine which has a Voip setting.

My problem is that I need to get the faxes printed as they come in so I used a program called automatic print email #4 it works perfectly but its expensive $70 US dollars and the 30 day trial will soon run out.

Does your email client have any rule options that if an email with a certain subject came in print it.
I am using outlook and it has that option to do that.

My suggestion is to move to a provider such as WxC if you have issues.

Outlook can be made to print emails and there attachments as they come in yes - 2 problems with outlook - 1 the printing is the Email and the attachment so perhaps I am being a bit fussy but I don't need the Email just the attachment

The other problem with outlook is that I have not found a way to get it to run in the back ground so it ends up not being on all the time - the "automatic print email #4" is always going in the back ground.

OK 2talk have a support "Ticket system" if you ask a question they can help you with they answer it quickly. It is way better than Slingshots Italk who just completely ignore you or take ages to get back to you.

It's "support@2talk.co.nz", not .com :) However, as mentioned they are strongly pushing all users towards their ticketing system.

You do realize that their Faxmail works both ways, and you can send yes?

I know several people who happily scan-to-PDF and then email-fax that with the PDF attached. It's a little more long-winded compared to just throwing a fax in the machine, but it works.

I do realise you can scan then faxmail but my wife would not like that she is a Fax person not a scan person anyway I always try to get to the bottom of things and I am proud of the fact that I was able to get the fax machine working on the Voip but gave up on the receiving because My wife would have killed me every time she missed a fax - now that I get all the faxes sent to the Email we can rest easy - a real good thing about getting faxes in the email is that you can flick them off to someone else in an email
