My company uses 2talk for our voip solution - our phones seem to have stopped working and I can't get onto their website.

Anyone else having problems?

They have just confirmed that they are having issues with their internet connection provider or something like that

I can load their website right now.
Not too sure about calls though.

Yep, my phones are back up.

Just goes to show I need the landline redundancy solution. Have posted a question in another thread about that though :)

Yeah I've been using them for about that length of time as well. No faults before, and very cost effective as well.

Between 11:40am and 12:05pm today 2talk lost Internet connectivity due to a fault with their upstream hosting provider.  The fault was not specific to 2talk but it meant that anybody connecting to 2talk over the Public Internet could not reach our platforms.  Customers with a direct connection to 2talk (not using the Public Internet) were unaffected by the outage and also our voice network was unaffected so anybody with call forwarding on unavailable/unreachable setup would have received their calls this way.  We recommend that customers setup call forwarding on unavailable to a cell phone or similar to avoid problems if their Internet connection to 2talk goes down.

We apologise for the outage and are looking to implement redundancy in our hosting in the near future so that a future issue with our upstream ISP has less impact on our customers and services.

If users still have any problems connecting to 2talk then please contact our support team.

Cheers,
Ray@2talk

Excellent advice Ray, that is a good suggestion as it covers most situations apart from an Xnet data centre outage.

Hopefully you'll be introducing redundancy soon on the link that went down Laughing

Oops, sorry I had a brain failure there, I saw 2talk, my brain read "Xtalk" and thought "that's the Xnet VOIP product".

Perhaps Xnet can sell 2talk a backup link - assuming of course that you don't both use the same upstream provider.

I have 4 2Talk lines, one being an 0800 number, we have always had call forwarding on unavailable/unreachable to my Cell Phone. Never had any problems
