Hey folks.

Just a heads up. 2talk have just changed their plans and rates as of 1st of October. The new rates are here:

http://www.2talk.co.nz/newrates.html

There are new plans available here:

http://www.2talk.co.nz/pplans.html

It seems the new plans have removed unlimited local calling, however depending on your calling patterns some of the new plans may be better value (2 lines for $20 + GST).

You can remain on your existing plan after the 1st but cannot select the old plans from then. So, if one of the existing plans suits you and you have been looking at signing up, it may pay to do it before the 1st of October.

Cheers, Matt.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

The new plans look very attractive. For a tenner a month (+GST) the amount of minutes, evenly locally, that are included is fantastic value. Do people really make more than 2000 minutes of local calls a month?

I think the 2000 minutes local calling limit has always been there; its just been lost in the small print

It used to be 500 free minutes NZ and Intl now I see it's 250 minutes but never used anything like that as my 2Talk line is a secondary line used mainly for mobile calls..

Yes it was 2000 minutes for local calls on all 3 of the old plans but see on these new plans that the $20 and $30 have 4000. The 250 minutes for $11.50 GST inclusive would probably suit me better too as I dont think we got anywhere near 500 minutes in a month. I am always encouraging my lady to ring her brother up in KihiKihi and have only got her to ring her Aunty in Australia once. Plus I have got my father down in Nelson whom I ring from time to time but still find I have plenty of minutes left over.

My $15 plan (now $15.33) now says two regional lines free and 4000 minutes of local calls. I might just stay on it as a second line may come in handy one day...

Thanks for pointing that out as I hadn't noticed that before now. I am on the same plan and have got the same as you. So think I will leave mine as is too. One thing you wouldn't have to worry about if your wife goes over the 4000 local call minutes. That would be pretty hard for anyone in a month I would think.

I am sure it didn't used to include 2 lines. I totalled up the local calls and we are only doing 600 odd minutes of local calls so nowhere near 400 but will stick with the current plan.
