I'm having some issues with a Trixbox setup that I've taken over from a previous IT company. The main issue is I can't get SSH access or secure FTP access.

On the main system status screen (as you log in to the GUI under "maint"), it says the SSH server is running, but on the status screen in the PBX section, it say SSH Warning - not running.

I've tried various commands on the console, but still no joy. The underlying Linus stuff is not really my strong point (I tend to live in GUI world), so I'm after a bit of a hit list of ideas:

- What commands can I run at the console
- Any settings I can check in the config files
- Could there be any firewall stuff (in Trixbox) blocking access
- This access may have been purposely disabled - ideas on how to re-enable.
- other things to try?

The main issue that I need to get sorting is being able to pull off a bunch of call recordings, which I normally do by secure FTP using winSCP.

Thanks

Hi,

Have you tried plugging a Monitor/Keyboard to that Trixbox CE box and logged in as 'root' ?

If you can try running this command:

'/etc/init.d/sshd restart'

What's the output?

also check that ssh is actually listening:

netstat -ltn

should see something like 0.0.0.0:22 LISTEN (or something similar)

if it is listening and you still can't get in it may be firewalled off.. do an iptables -L -n (make sure you are logged in as root) to see what is/isn't allowed in :)

Thanks for the hints - I found the port that SSH had been changed to in one of the config files.
