The time on my panasonic cordless gets deleted when the power goes off.

The time gets updated each time a call comes in, so I guess it's getting time info in the caller id stream.

The time is currently an hour out.

That suggests Day Light Saving issue.

Where/how do I fix this?

Is it a 2talk issue that I fix in the 2talk control pannel?

Is it an issue on the PATA2 settings?

PAP2T setting, you will need to change a regional setting to + 13

ta...

But I already have Day Light Saving Rule set to :  start=10/1/7/2;3/15/7/3;save=1

I assumed I set the zone to +12 then it just adds 1 in the rule...

How does it work?  If I set it to 13 will it update to 12 at the right time?

For me I don't really care...  I can just change it, but I"m putting a few of these boxes out in the wild and I don't really want to have to change those remotely... or do I have no choice?

I just noticed the time on the ata isn't quite right either... does it not get time in the signaling from 2talk?

nope, nothing to do with signaling, but NTP servers and the local region settings, if your doing a few "In the wild" I will leave 2talk to assist you, since I work for the another company, don't want to do there work for them...  Wink

There are with many earlier Linksys devices and firmware that coudn't cope with Southern Hemisphere DST settings where DST started and ended in different years. The solution was to use NZST+13 and to reverse the dates.

ta, Ok, I'll give that a go...  dont' follow how the dates thing works, but I'll have a look....

Now tell me how to make the stupid thing work with my alarm company - Signature Security.

I've read this:  http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=43&topicid=29542 and I'm getting the picture that they just don't work and won't work....

WAF is dropping like a stone here...  first the number port took hours and we lost service... then the alarm system went bonkers because it couldn't use the phone...  then the alarm co said they'd come reprogram it today... never showed up... then the monitoring co, who we pay far to much, didn't even bother to ring and say ET had failed to call home...

...man it's way to hard to support the good guys!

:)

I see mention of using DTMF Tx Method: set to inband but didn't understand if I just change it on the ATA or have to change the 2talk end as well...?

Man I'm going to be so happy with this puppy just works!

Thanks for the support guys. :)

Alarm monitoring over VoIP is very much a best effort service. Your best option is to install hardware and opt for monitoring through a company like AlarmNZ who do IP monitoring.

The odds are that you will not get the alarm to work on VoIP. The contact ID method tends not to work as it sends the info too fast for the ata. If your alarm supports it try 4+2. Or get a ip alarm and it can be monitored over the net.
Either way, good luck.

Lol, bet to it by Steve. There are quite a few that do ip monitoring now. We have two local wait crowds we use.
