Hi there, I recently bought a business with an _old_ PBX - "SBX 6" <-- dates around 1987

I have a couple Soekris net4801 which I was going to use as firewalls but with new phone setup needed I thought.. Asterisk and a little box.

I have installed AstLinux for a little look and seems to go well with the hardware and reviews have said it is capable of a fair bit more than I will be needing it for.

I have three lines coming into the business - one dedicated for EFT POS, once fax and one phone.  Currently the main phone in the office dials out of the main number where the workshop extension goes out via fax line.  So - only two phones but may add a cordless extension.  I am looking at using Yealink phones and finding a small PoE switch to drive them.

If I was to use the Soekris box as my Asterisk PBX does anyone have recommendations on kit to connect to the phone lines?  External or maybe I can take to the box with my grinder and use the internal PCI slot :)

thoughts?

If you can get to the PCI slot you could use a Digium TDM410P card or ATCOM AX400P card (equivalent but cheaper).

Alternatively there is the ATCOM IP04 Appliance which would give you a similar result.

Good choice on phone by the way, if you need help with anything at all feel free to drop me a line directly.

Thanks for that Hads, I was looking on your site while looking for a solution   Order for phones should happen soon and the way my time has been disappearing the single box solution may just be on order too.

Thanks for the pointers, much appreciated.
