ok, that's it!!! i had enough!! i have been having the problem of making international calls out from my 2talk connection! 3 ticktes raised while after a while i have simply been told, -- we have implemented the fix for your problem without telling me what went wrong and thing didnt get change at all!!!!

when i make calls to mobile in china, 1 out of 20 call might get through, i end up making calls by using my mobile as i am now on naked.. cheap international rate is the only reason i chose to use naked + 2talk and now i am so disappointed. support is useless and every time i have been told to simply raise a ticket and some call details but nothing i have been communicated properly!

if anyone could recommend a better voip provider for making international call would be great!!!

thanks

XNet VFX - I'll give them a million votes. In my mind they are the leaders, possibly worldwide.

I agree that 2Talks support is not good but as far as VOIP service goes it's pretty good. Never had any issues with International calling with the exception of Jamaica a few years ago..

I have had 2 lines with 2talk for the last few years and have found the service pretty spot on. I have only ever made a few international calls but never found there to be a problem.

$15 per month for 2 lines, 2000 national minutes, 30 mobile minutes, most countries below 5 cents a minute... who can complain!

Same here. Very few international calls but I can't remember ever having a dropped call except when the internet fell over. From my experience the weakest link in the chain is the ATA....

yes, my experience with 2talk is that it is pretty rock solid (at least compared to slingshot italk).

But the original poster does have a valid point I think in that when things do go wrong it seems pretty hard to get good level of support from 2talk to resolve issues (based on a number of prev postings in geekzone).

been using 2talk for over half year now
still on the PAYE plan, mainly using it for toll calls
fair amount of local mobile and international calls to family living in china (local & mobile)
using both Android voip client and spa 942 ip phone
no drop out at all, all calls went through
so no problem and I am still impressed with the quality of calls and the $$ saved

wont comment on 2talk's support service, which is pretty much non-existent

I've had no problems with 2Talks domestic (2talk to 2talk, 2talk to PSTN, 2talk to CDMA/XT)... however I have about a 20% success rate when making calls to China (both landline and mobile).

I couldn't get through to their support. Had similar results on VFX but their technical support were A. reachable and B. More than willing to work towards a resolution.

0161 on the other hand has a much better success rate (probably 99% of the time) calling China, except during Chinese new year.

I've been using 2Talk for both domestic (PSTN & Mobile) and international calls for over two years now and I have yet to have any service issues with international.

In the early stages I did have problems where the call originated from a Vodafone mobile, but that issue was solved by one of forum members who also happened to work for Vodafone, the issue was at Vodafones end and at the same time I was impressed by the efforts of 2Talk tech support to help resolve the issue.

ive been using 2talk for the last 2 years, generally its pretty good but have been having more and more problems

stuff like every now and then I call some one and they cant hear me, I can hear them. I have to hang up and call again and its fine. and the last 2 months people call and I answer but they still hear it ringing and goes to answer phone.

Ive had a support call in.

I think for the price they are excellent. But right now im after more stability and better support and am willing to pay more for it.

Any sugestions?

I see Orcon offer sip trunks for $15 a month with free  local calls.

As with pretty much every time this question is asked, Xnet VFX or Fusion if you want naked DSL. It is reasonably priced, and it just works, no mucking around, and if you need support, they are very good.

Issues like this are pretty typical of incorrect device configuration. Because they don't do any endpoint autoprovisioning it's up to you to configure devices meaning you can easily have a less than optimal configuration. I don't think either would be the fault of 2talk.

XNet VFX do get similar issues, but from what I've seen on these forums every time the customer was running Open VFX where the customer is responsible for the config. (That supports the comments from Sbiddle.)

Looks like 2talk has some serious problem connecting China. I cannot phone china for more than 2 weeks now. Will switch to VFX tomorrow.
