Hi, does anybody know how to block calls to mobiles, or a range of numbers, ie those starting with 021, 027 etc.. Baby sitter seems to have used the phone to make calls to mobiles.

Had a look in the Easyphone Configurator and there does not seem to be any option. Able to reject certain calls etc, but not unable to block calls to mobiles.

Also had a look on the Linksys phone adapter configuration - Dont see anything in there.

Is there a star code perhaps one has to set? Or prehaps a change required to the dialplan??

Thanks for the help...

Change the dial plan would be one option, but there will be some pitfalls with this. Does iTalk not have some advanced features to block or pin protect certain calls?

Yes there is a PIN code setting for toll calls (local calling without an area code will require a PIN). This does offer a solution, but 95% of our calls are toll calls to Auckland, Wellington etc. Don't want to be bothered with having to enter a pin for each and ever call.

Ask your babysitter not to do that, if it continues, Change your babysitter.
Do you really trust that person to look after your babies?

The Linksys dialplan can be used to restrict calls but that's no use if you ever want to be able to make mobile calls.

Look at the dial plan and sbiddles helpful info

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/sbiddle/7208

One option is you could set the the dial plan to contain 02s0 this will time out all 02 calls , i.e you wont be able to dial 021xxxxx, 022xxxxx etc, make sure you remove the the other 02 setiings though, this does mean however you also will not be able to dial mobiles.

Other options is to use VFX where we have a Mobile Toll Block.... Disclaimer I work for WorldxChange

I see Mr Biddle has beaten me too it ... Wink

You could also exclude 02x in the dial-plan, but allow 00642x (assuming iTalk can handle this). Then you just dial 00642xxxxxxxx etc if you want to call mobiles. Most likely your baby sitter will not know this.

Could that effect your billing. I ask because if I dial a Palmerston North number from Feilding and put an 06 on it, I get billed for the toll call and I don't get billed of I don't add the 06 code. Like provider Telecom, Toll provider Slingshot.

How hard is it to have two dialing plans, one for when your home and one for the BB sitter? And just run a script to change between the two plans.

Can't be done easily with a SPA device.

No, it's a chargeable mobile call anyway. As long as iTalk can accept NZ numbers in 0064x. format, then this will work. It's probably already in the dial plan anyway - so give it a go.
