First post - but already I feel at home in the Geek Zone!
As requested, I will try to give as much information as I can about this problem. I live in Spain and, some time ago, bought a Linksys SPA-2102 ATA. I also bought a UK DID from a company called Connexin and a Spanish DID from a Spanish company.
The Spanish server allowed me to 'map' that number onto my Connexin account, so that calls to either number rang my phone here. All worked beautifully. Then the Spanish provider went belly-up.
I have since been trying to get another Spanish DID in order to get back to where I was. I tried a number of providers, most of whom didn't even bother to reply to my questions about what I wanted to do. I had a couple of trial numbers from some providers, but we were unable to replicate the successful mapping of before.
So I decided I would buy both a Spanish and a UK DID from one provider - Localphone - and accept that I would have to tell all my contacts about the change my UK number. However...
I have been totally unable to get the SPA-2102 to register with the Localphone server. They have given me a second SIP ID and Password to try, but they both fail. If I run X-lite softphone, I can connect to the server with both accounts/passwords, so presumably they are valid.
I have been working with the Localphone support guy who has had me send a copy of the settings page. He assures me that these are all correct. Throughout this time, the Connexinaccount has been working fine, so I am happy that there is nothing wrong with either the SPA-2102 or my router. The softphone works ok, so it's not the router or internet connection.
But Localphone tech-guy has now said: "Unfortunately without being on your side of the network I think we have exhausted what can be accomplished via email support." - which leaves me with two purchased DIDs that I cannot use!
So that's the problem. Before I start sending reams of settings etc, does anyone have any quick ideas as to what might be happening here? If you want to see the settings page, I can send it as a .pdf.
Thanks
Phil
