Hi guys.

I am looking for an all-in-one product that includes:

3G HSDPA (Quad band maybe?)
External SMF connector for antenna
Inbuilt sim card slot
At least 1x analogue phone port (for voip)
At least 1x LAN port.
Wifi (nice but not essential)

Reliable, doesn't need resetting.

It is for a batch which needs a voip phone line, and a internet connection for IP cameras.
No ADSL available at this property.

Budget, around $500+GST.

XT because of the way it prices its prepaid data plans as the batch will be empty most of the time.

But a quad band HSDPA would be nice so I could use either VF900 or XT 850.

I have found a Netcomm 3G8WV

Which is exactly what I need apart from it does analogue-over-gsm, which I am assuming is not voip based.

XT has a problem with SIP (VoIP) and connection to auto answering services, you will probably find that the VoIP service will drop the call after a a few seconds when you connected to Auto Attentants , RVA's etc.... This appears to be a generic issue with XT the issue does not occur with Vodafone

Thats fine. People can just go outside and use their mobiles to call AA's.

I am using a Cisco SRP 521W (cable modem). Four ports, 100Mbps, 802.11n, two SIP lines, 3G fallback, but uses USB 3G modem (Telecom XT Sierra Wireless, Vodem and 2degrees all work fine), QoS, multiple sub LANs.

Currently using with WorldxChange VFX (Line 1) and Mynetfone (Line 2).

Very nice and fast, plugged to a 100 Mbps DOCSIS 3 modem and service (TelstraClear WLG), no speed loss at all.

During my tests with the 100 Mbps TelstraClear service I had it downloading from 25 torrents, with no limit on number of connections and it didn't even complain. With a cheaper router you might not get this. Screenshots (and disclosure stating all torrents were legal).

I would recommend the Cisco SRP521 or 527W I use a 521W which is excellent. I use a 2Degrees data card with it. it has 2 x VoIP analogue lines and supports faxing also. Very reliable and carries the Cisco name. I've tried a number of NetComm devices with poor results. - Just in my personal opinion.

Because it is running off 3G full time and needs to be a very tidy install, I don't think I can use a 3G USB type solution, especially because I also need to install an additional antenna because of the low signal inside.

Im using a WRP400 with 2talk connected to a bandlux with yagi to vodafone 30km away. Getting reasonable results but looking to impove. (Sometimes quality goes quishy but mostly ok)(Sometimes WRP400 switches phone off for a bit)
Key seems to be getting good signal. I can only get it ok with no yagi if close to cell tower.
I am looking to trial an all in one unit shortly with 2 yagis but $s will be up as well. Compared with Satelite which is only other option I have the payback on investment is quick.
The WRP400 is a great unit and I think it can take a usb modem but uless you are close to a tower Im not sure how it would go.
Interested this follow this discussion as I have done a lot of experimenting and am amazed to get it going so well considering the distance to cell tower.

With many of the Sierra Wireless cards you can bolt on a larger Arial (Which I've used before). This is a workable solution. Basically if you want best of breed, you won't find it for 500 dollars. Given your budget I suggest the Cisco SRP family with a good quality data card which allows for the external arial.

Check out the Draytek DV2710vn, it's also USB 3G but I doubt you're going to find much off-the-shelf with it built in.

From reading that post I wonder the reliability of that device.. :| I want to set and forget!

I think I am going to create a solution:

1x Mikrotik RB411UAHR board with indoor case powered by 1xPOE
1x Sierra Wireless MC8700 quad band HSDPA+ mini PCI-E modem
1x Wifi antenna
1x 3G 850-900Mhz antenna

1xVoip phone

I know this will cost upwards of my budget but I think it will work/look the best. Plus I trust mikrotik gear to be reliable.

Also, the Mikrotik OS has a hotspot function which can be used to control/limit people wanting to use the its wireless gateway, just like a hotel hotspot.

[edit] problem is getting a hold of m2m connectivity to get a price for the MC8700 module. Anyone had any dealings with them?

Not as much fun as a VOIP phone but if you are getting your 3G on Plan from vf you could well be better of with a vf wireless home phone on discount would get you a phone for just a few $ per month.
