Hi,

Could you please tell me steps by steps to set GoIP 1 x GSM gateway up&running as a trunk on Elastix 1.6? Its picture is here.
http://www.hybertone.com/en/pro_detail.asp?proid=10

I read the manual but cannot figure out how to do it.

Thank you for your time,
David

You need to set up a trunk on Elastix something like

[gsm-gw]
disallow=all
allow=alaw&ulaw
canreinvite=no
context=from-internal
dtmfmode=rfc2833
username= (use whatever you like)
fromuser= (use whatever you like, same as username)
secret= (password - use whatever you like)
host=dynamic (or you can blind to a static IP if you have one)
insecure=port,invite
type=friend

Then you get your VOIP-GSM gateway register to this trunk.

After that, you need to set up outbound route on Elastix for calls to go through this trunk with a dial pattern like "021X." or "027X." or whatever it suits for free calling destinations.

Hope it helps.

I get "The number you have dialed is not in service."

Here are screenshots of my setting.

I guess 208.111.39.91 is your Elastix server IP?

There are a few things need to be changed.

1)
In the trunk setting, you should use
"host = dynamic"

Or if your GOIP gateway is under a static IP, only you should assign
host = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
(xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is your where your GOIP device's IP, NOT the elastix server IP)

Also if the GOIP gateway is behind a router or firewall, please add
"qualify=yes"
to "PEER Details" under this trunk.

2) Please remove "875045010" from the "DID Number" BOX under Incoming Route for testing purpose.

Now, you should be able to get imcoming call from GOIP gateway at this stage.

3) You will need to add Outbound Route as well if you wish to dial out from the GOIP gateway which you haven't got one from screenshots supplied.

4) After changing this, if it still doesn't work. Please SSH to your elastix server
(Download the free putty client to ssh to your server)

Login to your server.
Under the linux command, type in
Asterisk -vvvvvvr
Once connected to Asterisk,
type in
sip show peers

and post the results here

Good luck, sir!

No worries but you please remember to change your "1234" password or someone will steal your VOIP minutes from your Elastix box.
