We're looking at getting local numbers in both Australia and the USA. Best providers to look at?

One other query, if you have a USA based 1800 number, and want to receive calls from Canada, is this possible, or we'd need a 1800 Canada based number as well?

2talk.co.nz will also let you get them, just create a provisioning ticket in the 2talk live system.

if you have a 1-800 number in the US, calls to it are free from anywhere in the world if your client uses SKYPE :-)

i often call US 1-800 numbers via skype.

Aussie toll free might be a free call in skype too

We use 3play networks for aussie toll free their ping speeds to APE are quite good actually, getting hold of support during the Queensland floods was a little iffy thats all.

Faktortel now do toll free numbers I believe though I only use them for local DID's.

For USA ipcomms is good.

Skype's good for testing toll free in aus and usa. Too bad other countries arent the same, e.g. we have german, spain, netherlands etc.. toll free numbers and you cant call those from skype.

I'm always looking out for third party termination providers who let me call toll free numbers in various countries. If anyone knows how you can call Norwegian toll free numbers let me know ;)
