Hey folks,

Am looking at a new laptop as there are only 3 in the house at the moment (!) so am looking at the Surface Pro 3 which I will pick up tomorrow.

I thought I might throw Windows 10 on it a I will be starting from scratch. Is anyone running Win10 daily? Has it got issues?

I wouldn't run a business critical machine on it, as there is functionality missing, though I have not had any crashes since converting one of my laptops to the build released in Feb 2015.

Depends on your frustration threshold, running incomplete software can be a mixed bag.

i have only 3 laptops. 2 are now on win 10 permanently.

i dare not more my powerhouse i7 to win 10, as if it ain't broke .... the other 2 had issues.

one was on vista - too old too slow
one was on win 7 for 5 years and something is wrong with it

Is it easy to revert back if you have issues or don't like, or are you locked into using until the official release?

make an image of the old set up.

I use Win10 on my Gaming Machine, Media PC and Laptop - Not a single issue on either. Have been using it since release and installing each new build as it is released.

Biggest issue I've had is that every time Windows 10 resumes from sleep it BSOD's. At first I thought it was the laptop, but now I have the same behaviour on two different models, different era chipsets/cpu's/etc.

Other than that it seems pretty damn great.

I had Win 10 on my Dell Venue 11 Pro, it was slow...but it offered me an option pre-boot to revert back to Windows 8.1which I did and it worked fine

Other than that it seems pretty damn great.

Although I find it just like windows 7, without the aero. It is reliable, and faster than windows 7,but there are compatibility problems. For example my logitech touch pad software doesn't work on it.

There is a simple rule of thumb I have heard many times about preview build: If you have to ask if others think you should install it, you probably shouldn't...

Haha! This question still applies to Vista and Windows ME!

Thanks for the feedback guys. Will stick with Windows 8 in the meantime.

With Windows 10 we're working on the upgrade experience so that an in-place upgrade from 7 or 8.1 will be first class and eliminate the need for wipe+reload. In my experience from Win 8-> Win 10 its has worked superbly.

I have been using Windows 10 as my daily driver since October. The good thing about this preview version is that there will be a path to RTM without needing to flatten and reinstall.
