Not sure what is going on but basically it will freeze, during various moments, ie a video, using windows explorer, trying to type a comment, there is no consistent reason.

I studied the ram and not much is happening there.

I will try running virus scan and malware across it. There are no new additions.

Other than that, is easiest thing to reinstall EVERYTHING? which would be painful.

Asus ux310, Gen 7 i5, 16GB Ram, 256GB SSD. Bee ultra reliable.

Sounds like it's not very reliable is it? try running a test with memtest: https://www.memtest86.com/download.htm

If errors - Replace your RAM, take one stick out and confirm which one it is.

If no errors check the event log or use bluescreenview: https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html and see if it lists anything at the same day/time you have the issue.

If nothing is listed try running a chkdsk /f in a administrative cmd.

If no errors - try opening a administrative cmd and running a sfc /scannow command.

1 unkown as yet problem in 2 years, id say its been very reliable.

I wondered if this could have been it https://www.cnet.com/news/microsoft-warns-that-a-zero-day-exploit-exists-in-windows-says-fix-is-coming/

As when I checked the ram usgage I noticed adobe manager library acting eratic, so disabled it and thought nothing more of it until I saw this article just after I created the thread. article is dated yesterday and sounds very similar.

will try the other suggestions. cheers

Well Ive done nothing and its gone, aside from run my scans. It appeared on the 25th and was gone by the 26th. No uploads from MS. Meh, computers. Was a bit odd but could have been anything, or the virus mentioned.
