MadEngineer:

After the update the onedrive app wouldn't sign into my microsoft account:

Microsoft OneDrive

You're syncing a different account

The account that you signed in with doesnt match the account that you're syncing.

Please provide the password for "".

To add another account, right-click the blue OneDrive cloud icon in the notification

area and click Settings. Click the Account tab, then click Add an account.

(copy-pasted from elsewhere)

... and after uninstalling + reinstalling the app, the OneDrive folder in Explorer no longer links to my account, rather is local only in ~\OneDrive

Finally fixed this.  Basically trashed both the onedrive and skydrive folders in my ~, killed the processes for the app and uninstalled it (in no particular order). Then ran the uninstall and reinstall as per https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/forum/odwork-odfiles/repair-onedrive-install-in-windows-10/37b6b966-2e15-4380-8875-06ffa39e4fdd and signed in.

This got the app going again but the icon was still wrong, fix for that here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/forum/odwork-odedit/onedrive-folder-icon-missing-in-fileexplorer/2cf2b9cb-733d-4218-bfff-49512fc50ef7.  I was too impatient to wait for the icon to re-appear so performed a restart of explorer.exe from task manager.

Possibly caused by having onedrive for business installed on my PC as part of Office 2016 Pro?  I'm not using that and there isn't an immediately obvious way of removing it but at least everything is working now

You're not on Atlantis anymore, Duncan Idaho.

It reenabled all my disabled audio devices, and a few other things in device manager I had disabled.

Lost monitor layout configuration but that seemed to come right on its own.

Broken exclusive mode playback for tidal - now just keeps telling me to choose 44.1Khz 16 bit for the device which is is actually set to.

Have an annoying defender shield in the tray with an x on it because firewall is disabled - no obvious way to get rid of that or disable the firewall warning.

Creators killed my Intel Graphics driver so I couldn't use any external monitors on my laptop. It would default back to MS Basic. After weeks of hunting for help, I finally gave up and bought a new laptop. That really sucked, but I did get an awesome one, a Lenovo 910.

What model was your laptop that had driver problem?

My main desktop at home is quite an old machine (G3 i3) so has onboard Intel 4000. It seems the problems I've experienced aren't unique. https://communities.intel.com/thread/113216

I guess I need to go and buy a new GFX card to get my machine to work properly again as there are all sorts of GFX issues I'm having.

If you mean the placeholders then no. That is apparently to be a Redstone 3 (September) feature...

Thanks for this information. I have a couple of older machines I was thinking about updating. Guess I'll put a hold on that.

I did updated my main computer about a week ago.
I do find the replacement of the quick the access to the CMD prompt with Poweshell in the context menus and Win + X menu a little bit annoying. I do a lot of stuff via CMD prompt, and although it all still works via Powershell I just find is annoyingly different.

Might be time to re write some of the helpful exe I have written over the years to PS scripts.laughing

It is an Acer Timeline from 2013, with an Intel HD4000 Graphics driver. I was on the fast ring and it crapped out early in the new year, spend until now reverting back to the last good install until I just gave up. It ran sweet as a laptop with 2 SSD's, I didn't have a need to upgrade.

If anyone prefers the old command prompt, why is it a problem as cmd.exe still exists? Mine is still pinned to the taskbar as usual. Or pin it to Start or have a link on the desktop.

This update seems to have killed anything running older Intel video among other things. I don't even have the rollback capability now when I checked so am pretty much stuck with 2 PC's and a laptop in the house that all suffer from various degrees of muntedness from the update.

Even going into the driver settings in control panel crashes the control panel..

I am pretty sure there is some sort of memory leak or memory management issue in Creators Update. On two machines I use often, that have it, I am having to reboot daily or at least every 2 days to restore stability. Chrome is just terrible operating on CE, runs out of memory 3-4 times a day, never had that before.

As installed. Are you using Chrome 64 bit on a 64 bit OS install or not? If not, why not?
