billgates:CYaBro: Am I reading that correctly in that if you want Windows Media Center you need to buy Windows 8 Pro plus the WMC addon?
Or is it included with Windows 8?
You will need to purchase the Pro edition and on top of that you will need to purchase an media pack add on that will cover the licenses for Dolby pro and codec licenses.

One of the responders in Nathan's original link says:
Clearing up some common points of confusion:
– The media pack comes pre-installed in regular Win8. It's an optional add-on for the business-oriented Pro because it's a very consumer-oriented feature.
Nathan, are you able to confirm if that is actually correct?
networkn: Now there is an Enterprise Edition as well announced.

networkn: Hi Nathan, did you get a chance to try VNC remote support of W8? Any updates as to the likelyhood of Metro being an option rather than mandatorily enabled?

the blog post is correct
MCE is not in Windows 8
the comments posted are incorrect, as I previously mentioned
Its available for Windows 8 Pro with the Windows 8 Media Center Pack addon
or Windows 8 with the Windows 8 Pro Pack
Which gives you Windows 8 Pro with Media Center

Making Windows Media Center available in Windows 8

Sorry I haven't played with VNC for a while, but am regularly using RDP from and to Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 machines every day perfectly fine
Metro is part of Windows 8 and there will be no classic mode etc

Ugh, what a mess. Pity, MS were listening there for a while. Thank God there will be utilities which will enable classic view.

Ok, but I have to say, it would have to be a drastic change. I don't like not being able to close my OWN apps etc and I have to say after using it for 2 hours, I needed some exercise to burn off my excess frustration at not being able to work the way *I* want to :)
