Also using Teamviewer with Direct IP to my HTPC. Works well.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

I use AnyDesk (http://anydesk.com) and it works really well, detects if it is on the local network.

thanks. might have to try something other than teamviever if it keeps doesn't play ball with win 10 ... otherwise my htlaptop is lightning fast [yeah of course a new compter would be nice but the bank balance is a bit unbalanced at the mo] -

the 5 year old win 7 installation is laggy. not sure why as i uninstalled just about everything i could think of [no viruses, no junk, no gazillion toolbars, no addons, nothing]. like - double click something. nothing happens. then something happens. so went to clean install win 10 :D

To use direct IP with TeamViewer, had to change a few settings on the client end:
Open the Win7 firewall --> Advanced settings --> Inbound Rules
Scroll down and you'll find 4 TeamViewer references:
2 for Teamviewer Remote Control Application, and
2 for Teamviewer Remote Control Service

The problem is that all 4 references are set to "Public" only.
Double-click one of each reference, select the Advanced tab, and enable the "Private" checkboxes.

Radmin works for this.

We use it at work, runs well over LAN.
