Did you do an upgrade or a clean install? MS have strongly recommended CLEAN installs of Windows 7 - Not upgrades. The operating system does not "mute" OEM drivers. When you install a new OS the drivers need to be reinstalled. If your drivers do not work then you will need to go to the hardware providers website (as suggested with Nvidia above) to download the latest drivers for Windows 7. That being said, Windows 7 has a great set of inbuilt drivers for most standard components.

Sorry did not mean to give offence. Just have to check these things and it was not clear from your post that you had hit both.

What keyboard are you using? do you have another one you can try? I take it other shortcuts work like ctrl + i it is just windows + whatever does not work?

I'm not sure what's so great about windows 7 RC drivers?

Since migrating (clean install) from the Beta to RC my machine has developed into a BSOD HTPC. Everytime I try to use my PCI-E Nvidia graphics card I blue screen. And from the technet forums I am not alone.

Hmmm.....the weekend will be spent trying old drivers, different hardware combinations in what will probably be a fruitless attempt to get the RC working.

Such a pity when the Beta worked so brilliantly!

Reminds me of what happened with Vista and the requirements for Aero changing at the last post.....I really hope we aren't heading down the same path again.

:-) Cheers

After the Vista launch fiasco, I don't think Microsoft wants it to go the same way any more than you do.

i did clean install..where as the windows 7 formatted but kept the previous OS in a folder named "old.windows"  or something to that effect..this made it real easy to transfer my files etc over to the new OS

Not sure what's going on with your Windows 7 install, guyz.

All the Windows key shortcuts work fine for me. Windows + D shows the desktop, Windows + M is minimise, Windows + E opens Explorer, Windows + L locks the workstation.

You are correct in saying that Alt + Tab now can display the desktop. The 'button' at the far right of the taskbar does the same. Part of Aero Peek. Alt + Tab still performs the same functions as it used to though.

Alright, I have been having a problem with Windows Media Center displaying folder/files in Windows 7. In short, I added a media library folder (movies) from a map networked drive. Name of the folder is called Movies and it has plenty of sub folders inside it with various movies and TV shows. So I had to add \\192.168.1.*\Movies. Everything went OK there. Now when I browse the movies section, some of the sub folders are showing up fine but some are just displaying the list of files that are in various other sub folder.

i.e Speed 1 and Speed 2 sub folders. Speed 1 has S1.avi inside it and WMC shows it as Speed 1 which is what I want, the folder name not the file name. Speed 2 has S2.avi but that shows up in WMC as S2.avi. For some weird reason lots of my movies are showing the filenames and some are showing the folder name.

Any fix?

My experiance is that I don't see the folders. Just the movies. I have each movie in its own folder under the movie share on my Home server so that My Movies can get the cover art etc.
When you go into movies on media centre all the movies are displayed. Click on them to play.

Before I had mkv setup the folders/movies did not display at all in Media centre.
