insane: One would think it easier to find the person who tampered with your PC than to purchase a new HDD to fix the issue, unless of course the machine it not yours ;)

there's never an 100% guarantee I'm just saying that it worked for me personally just buy an small cheap HDD to try with that way if it does fubar the new HDD it's an big expensive loss if it doesn't fubar it then go ahead and buy a bigger HDD and use the little one for an exernal drive
