re  bradstewart:
Yes Vista Ultimate will be around $700, which isn'y too bad considering XP Pro was the same price 5 years ago. So in real terms it will be cheaper than XP Pro

Would you pay $700 for Vista when the some of the parts like Media Player 11 (XP version) and IE7 is free and dont forgot about the free Google goodies which are just as good,

have a read of this artical from http://www.winsupersite.com

Makes some good reading and if the around $700 mark is what we are likely to pay I will be staying with XP and will see what a new floppy drive with a OEM version will cost before I upgrade or might want to splash out on a new Vista machine with a Intel Core 2 Duo and prob the E6700

I have it installed now. Vast improvement again over the previous build.
