Anyone know if you can install from a virtually mounted ISO? (i.e. is the ISO only needed for the time before the first reboot)

I was kind of keen to install, to see if some image processing software (now unsupported) would run under win10. However, I have an enterprise edition of W7u from which I will do a clean install on this machine - when I get around to it - as I don't think I want W10 home edition as the OS on this machine, mainly because of limitations on update scheduling.

Do you have Media Centre? Do you have sufficient HDD space on the C: for ugprade?

Yes to media centre, and yes, over 300 GB free space on a 500 GB SSD.
I guess I need to remove media centre - had to think about that, as I had to look to see if it was installed, as I never use it anyway.

Have you tried the remove Downloads directory thing mentioned earlier in the post?

Has anyone figured out how to change settings in weather app so it displays Kph and not mph? can only change from F to C. seems to be the only thing annoying me so far

Media centre removed, nothing happened (but it tried another update - with same fail message after Media Centre was removed), but this is a little odd in a back to the future kind of way. PC clock is correct, and in correct time zone ((UTC+12:00) Auckland, Wellington.
The compatibility check app was "last run" in 4 hours time!

That's the same error # I'm getting. Same error # on 9 attempts, the last a few minutes ago.

When I realised I was getting the same error message I did the following and Iworked a dream and on family PC's that had the same .....

"What this error means is, your Windows 10 installation folder is unfinished and/or corrupted. Now, how do you fix that?
1. Go into "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" and delete everything in that folder.
2. Now, run the command prompt as an administrator. Type in "wuauclt.exe /updatenow".
3. Go to your Control Panel > Windows Update and your Windows 10 should start re-downloading from scratch, hopefully without flaws this time. "

Remember to let it do its thing after this with out interrupting it.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Odd. When I change from C to F it changes from kph to mph and vice versa.
