Microsoft claims to not make any distinction about what constitutes an assistive technology - perhaps you use headphones to assist with listening to music?
Technofreak:
The question has to asked, If is free for 12 months why not for ever?
The other question is, if people weren't prepared to upgrade when it cost them "nothing", what are the chances they would pay for it now?
The logic escapes me honestly.
Hah! It's like people that wouldn't be seen dead going to go a Pak n Save when the prices are absolutely cheaper there despite being across the road from their regular New World

I like the feeling of New World better than PaknSave
Last day to install for free... and... my PC died. Total hardware failure. Have determined it's not the power supply, likely the motherboard or CPU.
I'm gonna be real annoyed if I replace the motherboard and find that my Windows 10 license is no longer accepted because it's a different PC now.

Read the post again; the upgrade has already been done but he's concerned that changing the motherboard will invalidate the licence.

And there you have it..

$349 pro
I wonder how many people will think $349 represents value over W7 or W8?
gzt: Is that the upgrade price? Surely the upgrade price is lower.
If it came up on an existing installation, I assume it wasn't trying to sell him a non-upgrade. Maybe they don't do upgrades anymore. Like when they did away with Upgrades for Office.
I guess when you are the prevalent force in the market you can do whatever you want, including not bothering to reward customers for their loyalty.
This pricing is also the same from local distributor Ingram, doesn't seemed to be a consumer upgrade product out yet.
We have told a lot of customers that they would be expecting to pay upwards of $300 if they didn't take the free upgrade path by the due date.
