Made the mistake of doing a clean install, never again.

The OOB experience is so annoying, I didn't realise how bad it was as I'd upgraded from 7 -> 8 -> 8.1 -> 10 etc so must not have experienced the things Microsoft is shoving down your throat now

From candy crush and other associated bloatware auto installing on every reboot, despite uninstalling, to hardware drivers automatically installing with no way to stop itit's been a frustrating experience

The methods that used to stop hardware driver from automatically installing don't work anymore, no matter what I do the nvidia drivers keep installing when I don't want them to as I want to do a fresh driver install not over the top

Almost makes me want to move to Linux

Re-enforces what I've always said - stick with the Microsoft anti-virus and use common sense because it is clear that the vast majority of third party anti-virus software producers couldn't code their way out of a paper bag.

Updated my mum's laptop and desktop - everything went smoothly.

yeah gamers generally feel they'll lose the most going to a linux distros. But this is a windows topic so I'll leave it at that :)

Have disabled SMB2 and SMB3 to make it work (I know I know not good in-light of recent Malware attacks)

unless it's corrupted/infected it's too complicated to do clean install! got so many things installed and half of them are online things that need password that i cannot remember the username of let alone the password!

My boot times had gone from sub 5 seconds to over 35 seconds :|

The boot traces showed nothing obvious, you need a PHD in windows to understand them anyway, so I went for the sledgehammer

I'm also now having issue with windows hello and my "windows hello" support camera.  If the machine goes to sleep the camera no longer turns on and sits at the "confirming its you" screen.

This is on a hp spectre x360 13-ac001tu.  Having to reboot it to get the camera to go again.  Only started after the update to Fall Creators

No updated drivers either :(

Had the following issues so far :

Disabled/removed my keyboard software (Steelseries)

Disabled/removed Nvidia GeForce Experience software

Notification LED's on keyboard no longer working (Caps/Scroll/Numlock) - tested in BIOS, works fine, soon as Windows loads, they stop.

Microsoft Word crashes whenever I attempt to save a new document.

Windows Media Player crashes whenever I try to open a file.

In other words, I regret updating Windows 10.

I installed Ubuntu 17.10 just for fun, didn't like it, so reinstalled Windows

This time, I installed it whilst the network cable was removed, I then disabled Windows update ability to install drivers before restarting and connecting to the internet..

Yep, disabled according to Windows Update:

Nope, I'll install them anyway:

Guess Microsoft knows best..
