Well I've installed it on one of my older Lenovo's - this seems too good to actually be a leak after playing around with it for some time.

- All drivers installed from Windows Update.
- Windows update actually ran updates on it.
- Automatically activated with a digital license (Windows 7)
- Seems stable...?!

This doesn't feel like a dev build. It has quite a bit of polish to it.

FWIW the "leaked" is a production signed build not a flight/dev build so it's more like a Release Candidate. Either an OEM leaked it (understandable for them to have a near finished version this close to announcement) or it was a marketing play to get (what seems like every tech outlet ) talking about it.

https://oofhours.com/2021/06/15/digging-into-windows-11/ is a good read.

Another nightmare to teach end users a new GUI they will be unwilling to learn..or wait until something like start11 rolls out to give them a familiar option.

But will the updates continue to break things? (Of course they will!)

Will they continue to roll out updates to fix the just installed update? (Of course you will!)

Probably leaked it themselves to gauge the reaction from people.

That's interesting, a friend of mine did a similar thing and listed many things that look like they are missing entirely, mirroring the comments by Thurrot that it's nowhere ready for release... (So, in Microsoft terms, RTM :))

Wow, so literally no option to sign in without an MS account any longer? That blows!

You can (and I did). "Other Options" when the sign-in prompt shows up then click "Offline Account".

Pretty unimpressed to be honest.
Touted as the biggest update ever. Really ??

Seems just like a skinned windows 10, maybe it is.

At least it does not come with all the bloatware and what is there you can just uninstall from the start menu.

In gigabytes, perhaps.

Thanks for clarifying, I was going off a review I read. I haven't tried to download or install it yet, and likely won't at this stage.

MarkM536: I'm curious about this from the video and websites linked:

As far as I'm seeing, it looks the same as US QWERTY layout

Easy vowel macrons for Maori maybe?

Installed it on a spare Surface Laptop Go, and boy oh boy it's
snappy and polished!
