Now it's stalled with 210MB to go :(

As I said earlier, Microsoft servers are currently very busy and they are adding more infrastructure to support users. So, dont be surprised if your download stops at 50%. Best is to wait for some update from Microsoft.

Got it in full now, had to start the download from scratch however. Installing in Virtual PC now. Hope I can get a Key.

The main W7 page was just updated with:

"Thanks for your interest in the Windows 7 Beta. The volume has been phenomenal—we're in the process of adding more servers to handle the demand. We're sorry for the delay and we'll re-post the Beta as soon as we can ensure a quality download experience."

Hopefully this also includes the Key servers.

You don't need a key to do the install, you've got a grace period, so just worry about the key later

BTW MSDN Subscriber Downloads and TechNet Subscriber downloads are now handing out keys properly

The servers must be under a lot of pressure as my download which has been running for just over an hour now still has 30 minutes to go.  Other simultaneous downloads from other sites have come down blazingly fast so my connection speed isn't the issue.

Good to see some people got it quick though.  I'm downloading the 64bit version.

MS should of known that there would be alot of people downloading it.They should of just put it on Rapidshare, they seems to be able to handle allot of traffic :) (oh wait it is on there, just not done by MS  lol)
Oh yea, I have found some direct link to MS of the Windows 7 beta which seem to go at full speed on my connection (600KB/s)
Should I/am I allowed to post the direct link?It starts like this: "http://download.microsoft.com/download/..."
Ok my link is down now too :(

Good advice, nathan!  And that's just what I did.  I'm already running the Beta, and am just after a Key so I can be one of the 'special' 2.5 million (!) who can enjoy Beta-goodness after the 30 day grace period.  But no drama, though, as I guess we'll go through all this again with Beta 2 and the RC as well, so I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities if we miss out on this one.

I dont think Microsoft is planned for another beta. This release is called "Windows Beta" and not "Windows Beta 1". So, expect RC next time

stagnant16: 32 Bit Download is available from;

http://download.microsoft.com/download/6/3/3/633118BD-6C3D-45A4-B985-F0FDFFE1B021/EN/7000.0.081212-1400_client_en-us_Ultimate-GB1CULFRE_EN_DVD.iso

Getting a Key is another matter though as the release has been delayed due to over demand and sever problems apparently!

Download complete.

Thank you.

Yes - confirming this is the case. I have it on a seperate hdd with vista on the other and the boat loader prompts you to choose which os but the default on my box is Win 7

It works fine, only one problem though. Vista partition wont be accessible from Windows 7 as it does not mount the Windows Vista partition. We need to assign a drive letter to Vista partition and everything works fine.

It does not pick up my Blackgold BGT3540 TV tuner...obvioulsy lack of driver support

I haven't tried 7000 yet but I had it working with leaked 69?? (whatever it was) but I see there are a few others with  problems using 7000. I also see tho on the green button there is a thread about a KB for the 64 bit version and it mentions a 32 bit version as well (see here) Hopefully it will work when I get the chance to install.

Installed windows 7: works great.

Freeview DVB-T works really well - minus guide.

Battlefield 2 works. But the punkbuster application does not. Judging by the punkbuster forums, they have no interest in providing a fix till Windows 7 is officially released.

Overall looks ok - but will probably have to dual boot with vista to get battlefield two working (can use a second harddrive for that though :)  )

That was just me, I did not install the drivers, have done so now and 7 MC now sees my card.

I have yet to test it properly though as I have not had the chance to configure it properly.
