dontpanic42:Definately keep us updated on your findings. I am keen to get a copy of the family pack also.

It looks like I will order a copy to be sent to my company's US office and get someone to send it to be via internal mail. That will make it even cheaper for me.

Kind of sucks that the OEM pricing is cheaper than an upgrade. Only advantage seems to be that you keep access to both 32 and 64 bit versions, is that correct? A couple of other questions Nathan may be able to answer. Do you actually have to have Vista installed to upgrade or will providing a valid serial be enough - I really hate the mess you can get with upgrades and would much rather do a clean install (I don't even have Vista installed on my HTPC now but still have the original disc and serial). I presume that an upgrade from Vista Ultimate to 7 premium or pro will be okay, yes?

Provantage no longer list the Family Pack as available for pre-order. D'oh! Either they removed it because I asked about it or it is no longer available.

I've no idea, but it is quite possible they have sold out. The Family Pack was a limited offer thing, not available for ever

If anyone has mates/family in Australia(I've got a sister). They seem to have it a lot cheaper than us :( even at the current exchange rate. cheapest for a 3-pack I've seen is $330AUD($405NZD) and since my sister is over at Xmas might have to get her to put it in her luggage

I have moved across the ditch. Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

Hmmm... never thought of that. Can you please provide a link to the one you saw? What version was it? Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate - 3-pack or family pack?

I'm pretty sure GoComp.com.au have some in stock? there are the ones for $110(need to buy hardware with) or $130 gets you Vista premium 64bit with voucher upgrade....

I priced up 3x copies of Win7 + a new Q9400 for $697 NZD, so i could kill 3 birds with one stone(media PC, partners PC + my PC) otherwise it's 3x versions of Vista 64bit with free win7 upgrades $516. So still cheaper than us :(. Playtech seems to have the best price of $199 incl shipping in NZ i think?

I'm just not sure on it, I notice on Pricespy that win7 prices keep dropping everyday, I think i'll wait for all the hype to be over and buy it next year, at any of those prices, it's just too much for me :(

Whats the cheapest I can get it on a disc if I order it online and get it delivered to a US address...

Yeah 29.95 is all good for me, I've just found my colleague has a US student ID :) woohooo. pity I've got 4 PCs to get it onto :( might just put it on my netbook for now, then get a 3pack later on

If you are a student or staff at a University, you can get Windows 7 Ultimate from Lapshop for $179. That's the cheapest I've found so far in NZ...

I have two computers though and think the cost to upgrade both is a bit extreme especially when you add cost of Office on top.

Yeah that cost is insane, even for 2, i've got 4(getting one student US licence) and I've got my staff ID here so I could get that Lapshop option too....Maybe I'll just pickup one copy of Ultimate for now for my home PC
