GregV: Build 10162 running on a laptop. Can't seem to get it upgraded to RTM. Any tricks to this?

Have you tried using the media creation tool and doing an upgrade?
Yup, tried this. Doesn't seem to have done anything. The .BT folder is present, but not changing. I'll try running the ISO as suggested by Nathan, and see what happens

My notification disappeared,  windows update says it is reserved, so currently using the Windows update tool on a Win 7 Home Premium PC. Looking forward to this.

Random Question but im kinda running a non legit version of 8.1 enterprise.
I want to do a fresh install and have an unused legit 8.1 professional key. Can i just go straight to windows 10 via a USB-ISO install or do i have to go 8.1Pro then upgrade to 10?

You can use the downloadable ISO at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 which has an embedded product key.

Using that ISO, run SETUP.EXE *from within Windows 8.1 so that it can detect that you have a licensed, activated OS*.  Then when it asks what you want to migrate, choose “nothing” or “data only”.

That will result in a “clean” Windows 10 OS that can successfully activate.

If you do a clean install using Windows 10 media (any media) and never went through the upgrade process, you won’t have a license and the machine won’t activate.

I have it working from the install on one PC, as I used the UK language pack, but it may think I am in the UK, as I didn't change any settings.

since you want an update, run setup.exe from inside your current version of Windows and choose upgrade

And it just stopped. PC is on, no hard drive activity, nothing on screen. Will leave for awhile, I have a feeling restarting is not going to go well.
