This pricing is also the same from local distributor Ingram, doesn't seemed to be a consumer upgrade product out yet.

We have told a lot of customers that they would be expecting to pay upwards of $300 if they didn't take the free upgrade path by the due date.

Or they could wait till they replace the machine and get it with the new machine.

Machines that are running W7, are probably due for replacement, machines running W8, probably don't see a massive difference in W10, enough to spend $300+. The W8 machines are likely at least a couple of years old.

I wonder how many people will think $349 represents value over W7 or W8?

Almost no one.
People,small/med companies, in general dont buy an u/g OS. They wait till they buy a new PC Or they do a sneaky & buy OEM & install that.

Win7 PC's getting old & due for replacement ? If they work they usually dont get replaced .
Plenty of XP machines still out there . Heaps of them , in use every day.

Mmmmmm As WIN10 free upgrade couldnt install on my PC due to a little system drive (created/installed during SSD install and O/S move) I don't think I will be bothering with WIN10.

My PC is running fine and even though I installed 32G RAM upgrade from 8G getting only 16G recognised I think I am safer staying put. Perhaps trying to find WIN 7 64bit Ultimate might be the better cost effective choice at some stage....FYI.....Laurie
