Just paid customs, hopefully it delivers in the next couple of days.

Good to know customs seems reasonably quick. Mine arrived in the country today, with customs now. How much did u get charged? I also got the type keyboard, and a soft case.

Thanks for that Nathan, glad it wont be a hassle.

I had the 128GB Surface and type keyboard, customs was about $200. Customs is paid, but it can take 48 hours for the package to be released to NZ Post or something. Be handy if there was an option so you could just have YouShop draw the money automatically from your credit card if required by customs.

Arrived this morning. Only used it for a short while but seems like decent hardware, the type cover is thinner than I had expected so that's good. Haven't been a Windows user for quite awhile but receiving an error message on its first boot after writing in my name and setting up account brought me right back.

Ha, Welcome back to Windows!

What di it cost you all up, landed in NZD?

I've had a play with the RT at JB, nicely put together and I know the Pro will be heavier. JB reckon the Pro is coming here, but didn't know sizes or prices. They do sell the covers/cases seperately, so if I wanted to YouShop one, it may be worth getting them here to save on duty/GST on them.

JB is full of load then. Microsoft Surface RT went on sale in New Zealand from the 15th March and I even saw some Harvey Norman ads on Geekzone.

Change retailers if the one you visit is not informed.

[EDIT: Oh, I see you mention Surface Pro, not RT]

OK, I read it different.

According to the article you have linked:

The exact date for release of the Surface Pro is yet to be announced.

...

Microsoft has also announced the Surface RT will be available in Japan, Mexico, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan; and the Surface Pro is being released in Australia, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, and the United Kingdom over the coming months.

Harvey Norman do not have the Pro on their website.

[EDIT]. Posted while you were updating yours - all good.

It was just some software error, I didn't pay it much attention and everything seemed to work. Just played with drawing some cartoons with the pen and am now playing SimCity.

I think about $1680, that is the 128GB Surface Pro + Type Cover + YouShop (about $80) and customs (about $200).
