First bug! Open Skype (I was just seeing whether it was preinstalled or just a link to download it) and it prompts you to switch to a Microsoft account. The Cancel button doesn't work.

I should probably figure out where you're supposed to report bugs to :)

Edit: There's a "Windows Feedback" app. It pops up the same "switch" window, but the Cancel works on that one!

... awesome, the feedback app just crashed.

I guess they DON'T want feedback after all!!! Seriously though, having done beta (and pre-beta) type testing for Microsoft products since the early naughties, I can testify that they really DO take user feedback into account, so it really is worth telling them what you think.

Good Job MS, plenty of bandwidth, downloading at 12.4MB/s took just over 5 minutes to download.

I'm not doing too well here. I've switched my account to an MS one, restarted the computer, yet the feedback app is just opening to a black screen. Can someone else please give it a go?

Could only get the ruddy thing to boot if I set Rufus to copy the ISO in UEFI mode. Oh well, UEFI is better, so...

I have it running on my iMac in virtual machine. Took no time at all to install and brought over the setting etc from my Win8 PC. Not bad for a preview. Not sure I like the look yet.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Metro apps take agggggges to load on my HDD. Homegroups have a new icon. No obvious way to access control panel, now that it's not on the start menu - can search for it, but that's pretty rubbish...

Notably less of a border around all windows now - not sure if I like the look, but I'll get used to it. Windows update checking is *astoundingly* fast now - quite incredible. Already a couple of updates available, you guys should do it too.

Could those in the know please comment if they think WX would run OK on my laptop.
Its a Core2Duo P8600@2.4Ghz, with 3GB of RAM, and a 240GB SSD. It currently runs W7 quite nicely.

Just have to wait an hour now for the download to complete.

ripdog: No obvious way to access control panel

Right-click on the Start button and there should be a Control Panel option. Conversely I can't find the Start menu properties now!

Regs: right-click properties on the task bar?

Ah yes, that does work, although moving it off the Start menu right-click doesn't help with "discoverability".

I don't recall ever right-clicking the start menu, I've always done that from the task bar.  Which version(s) could you click start menu?
