Disrespective: Yeah, i'm really pleased that they are using an open development preview. It should hopefully give the users an OS which they actually want rather than something someone else thinks they want. We will see, of course.
Interesting that they chose to jump to v10. 9 is considered unlucky in Japan so perhaps that has something to do with it... or maybe it just got eaten...
I'm tempted to throw this on a machine and see what's what but might hold off to see how stable it is first as it would still need to be somewhat usable for me. I wonder if the preview will have media center capabilities out of the box?

There's no "Nine" because they want to move away from "Eight" as quickly as possible. Also Windows X sounds like... you know what.

sidefx: Interesting... according to zdnet\Mary Jo, 10 will be the last major windows versions, after that they are aiming for smaller more frequent updates\enhancements. I wonder if they will name these updates after big cats?
