Brumfondl: Question for Nathan at a guess: We have three machines here that have reserved our upgrades and one that is my Insider machine and already on build 10240 and set to send and receive builds and updates to my LAN. Does this mean that those three machines will get the upgrade much closer to or even the 29th since the build is in da house already?

The peer-to-peer download won't effect when the reservation upgrade kicks into place. On July 29 though you will be able to download the ISO and in place upgrade those other 3 downlevel Windows machines if you want

Hi Nathan, I'd like to fully understand this part. Is there any mechanism that will peer the upgrade locally? Ie; one machine with Win10 upgrade complete peering to an Win7 machine getting the upgrade?.

(I'm aware of the new windows 10 update peering just want to fully understand if a similar mech is running for 10 upgrade as well) Thank you.

No, download the ISO image from windows.com tomorrow afternoon

Presumably Windows 7 doesn't support P2P updates, so you'll need to be on 10 on both machines first... which for the actual Win 10 installer is a chicken-and-egg problem.

Will it be OK to upgrade my Intel Tiny Stick to Win10, or should I wait a bit?

The last few days, every time I shut down or restart it tries to install updates. When I shut down it gets to 30% sits there for 10 seconds, then shuts off.

Think even with the huge lead time they may have rushed this a bit.

I am concerned there are graphical glitches in 10240, reported as early as 3rd or 4th insider fast ring builds. It's not a driver issue as best I can tell as I have had W10 on 3 different machines with different graphics cards, and they all do it occasionally. They aren't the end of the world, but it's
not the polished product that I really think they needed to release. I understand the new model is fix as we go, but I think basic things like elements remaining on screen after you have closed a window, isn't ideal. The number of instances of it dropped significantly in the last two builds but still...

I get issues on the latest build too.

On my lenovo T400 laptop, I get situations on waking from sleep where left clicking the mouse does a right click, and left clicking tabs closes instead of selecting.

And,  sometimes remote desktop window controls become non-responsive ...ie, so cannot close session.

Just minor things, rebooting fixes.

I should submit a bug report but i don't know if it is lenovo driver issue, or windows.

Where on windows.com is the link to download the iso? All I can see are instructions on how to reserve it.

I also have Start8 on my 8.1 PC, what should I do with that before installing Win10?

Remove it, you won't require it any longer. Start10 is it's replacement, but I am unsure what it would provide you that the new start menu in W10 hasn't already got.

Thanks. Nathan, do you know if the Intel Tiny Stick is good to go for Win10?

Arrived home this afternoon after 2 days away and RTM is installed.  Did they start rolling it out early to fast trackers?

Should I keep a copy of the licence key somewhere safe, or is it tied to my account somehow?

First security update already LOL!
