What does Media Player 11 do that Media Player 10 doesn't?

Can you point me to somewhere on the web that gives the details?

Cheers.

Downnload and see for yourself. Its a much simpler and cleaner design. Everything is organised better. I used to hate WMP, but now its all i ever use.

Yeah, me too.  I used to use Winamp, Sonique and various others, but now find that WMP does all I want.  As you have alluded to, the interface in WMP 10 leaves a little bit to be desired.  It's not that easy to find where the various functions are sometimes.  Hopefully WMP 11 will address this deficiency, I'll give it a try.

Does anyone else here use CokeTunes to buy music?

I'm having a problem with it since upgrading to IE7 and wondered if anyone else had struck the same issue.  Tech. Support have been of no help at all so far.

Yes coketunes seems to be incompatible with IE7. Apparently that will be fixed soon.

Yes, a huge improvement, I agree.

The new Library View is a very visual way of accessing your music collection -- almost as good as flipping through a stack of CDs except of course that it takes much less space!

Cheers Microsoft Smile

Looks pretty! And you can browse & buy/hire tunes from within it?Surprised Whatever next? (maybe they could have the cover art flipping over like an old jukebox)Wink

There's one thing I haven't been able to work out with it yet though:

In WMP 10, you could choose the default action for double-clicking a music file.

My preference was to have it set to "ADD to Now Playing List".

That way I could just double-click a whole bunch of songs.  The first one would start playing immediately and the others would be queued behind it in the list.

I have looked all through the menus and help file, but it doesn't seem possible to select that option in WMP 11.  The default action for double-clicking a music file is always PLAY NOW.  Has anybody else figured out how to change it?

A shame.  Other than that, I cannot fault WMP 11.

If you double click a file in 'songs' for example it will play through all of them...

Have there been any changes to the new DRM in WMP though? That's really my main beef with it... oh, podcast support too I guess.

Kudos to MS for not doing an iTunes :)

Im not sure if theres any DRM difference between WMP11 for Vista and XP. But it hasnt caused me any problems. Been able to transfer licences no worries.

IMHO... iTunes blows, to put it nicely

Yes exactly.  I don't want it to do that, instead I want WMP 11 to ADD the file to the current Playlist as WMP 10 would let you do.

I guess I'll get used to the new way WMP 11 works if I'm stuck with this behaviour but it's not ideal I don't think.  Dragging songs to the current playlist, or Right Clicking a song and then choosing "Add to Now Playing" are other ways to do it, but they take longer than a Double Click.

If anyone has found a way to change this default behaviour, I would like to know about it.

Anyone notice a delay when changing tracks manually? Sometimes it takes up to 30 seconds to change from one track to other. I experienced same problem with both beta versions before this.

No, it's instant for me.  Just press the Prev. Track / Next Track buttons on my keyboard and it changes immediately.

Where are you streaming the audio files from?
