Hi there,

Every so often I notice that my wireless connection stops having access to the Internet. To remedy this, I disable and re-enable the adapter.

OS: Windows 8 Pro
Laptop brand: Samsung NP-RV511-A07NZ

I have noticed, at the same time, the following in Event Viewer:

The utility to update Samsung software and drivers show the network adapters have the latest drivers.

The funny thing is prior to this issue, I had Windows 8 Pro (upgraded from Windows 7) and this never appeared. After having done a clean install of Windows 8 Pro (keeping personal files only), this has appeared.

I have disabled the computer allowing to put the adapter to sleep, but this has not solved the issue.

Having rung Samsung, I was told to ring Microsoft, who told me to ring my ISP for some driver. I rang TelstraClear and told them, and like me, didn't know why Microsoft told me to ring them. They told me to ring Microsoft again, which I did. They said to ring Samsung. Samsung can't help because I have upgraded the original OS - despite being told days earlier that I would not receive the usual support for my laptop except for drivers and software released by Samsung.

Is it a case of me ringing Broadcom and asking for a Windows 8 driver (that Samsung haven't released yet), or is there another way to sort out this problem?

I too have a problem with Windows 8 Pro Wi-Fi.  Before installing I had windows 7 64bit and upgraded to a 64bit windows 8, so I know there is no issue there.  My wireless adapter suddenly stopped working and I can only seem to get internet access through ethernet which is a pain.  I've tried reinstalling and also installing beta drivers for my WNA1300 Netgear wireless adapter.  Nothing has worked, I just recently saw that the function WLNA AutoConfig is "Stopping".  This appears to be a problem, but I don't have an answer yet.

Try this. Worked for me at work WiFi setup which is professional grade Cisco routers that do no work with windows 8 WiFi drivers for some wireless cards because Cisco firmware is too old.

Uninstall driver from device manager for WiFi network adapter. Download and install windows 7 version of the driver and install that.

Do whatever you want to do man.

My router is Linksys WRT110 powered by Cisco, the ID doesn't appear on this list when I searched it and the latest updates are from 2009. Could Upgrading the entire router fix my problem? Possibly a Netgear router?

I had the same problem Windows 8 pro wifi. I changed performance settings for wifi which helped but never solved it. This problem was one of afew that made me go back to Windows 7

HTPC Intel Pentium G3258 cpu, Gigabyte H97n-wifi motherboard, , 8GB DDR3 ram, onboard  graphics. Hauppuage HVR 5500 tuner,  Silverstone LC16M case, Windows 10 pro 64 bit using Nextpvr and Kodi

I have emailed Microsoft Support, and they are due to get in contact with me - hopefully today - to try and sort this issue out.

Attention! I have fixed my issue, but not in the way I was hoping.

I tested my problem with windows 7 and 8 and it was clear that the wireless adapter was not functioning properly when running on windows 8. No updates or drivers were solving the problem, but then something strange happened. My files got corrupted and I needed to do a full install of windows 8 again. Once I did this, it replaced my old files from windows 7, none of my programs can be run without being re-installed, and it even set up a new user using my email for a microsoft account. After all that, my wireless adapter sprang to life! I didn't even need to install the standalone drivers, windows seemed to configure it automatically. If anyone used the "upgrade from windows 7 to windows 8 pro" CD, you may wish to re-install so a windows.old is created. This is just what happened to work for me, there may be other ways to get it to work.

I'm in the opposite situation. I did an upgrade from Windows 7 to 8 without any network adapter issues - but because of other issues I did a clean install of Windows 8, which required installing everything again, and I'm confronted with the adapter issue.
