I was running two iTunes, one on a MacBook and the other on Win 7, the latter has been running OK on iTunes 11. On the weekend I moved the mobile devices to Win 7 and since then the entire OS has been crashing out repeatedly. Does anyone have any tips on what I can do to address and reduce this problem?

Possibily a driver problem . I went back to itunes 10 after too many problems with itunes 11 on windows 7 64 bt.

I had assumed I could not go back, will look into this now. Will I need to rebuild the libraries and synchronised devices?

I think you may need a copy of your itunes 10 library file prior to updating to 11, to roll it back.

The last iTunes 10 I downloaded was 10.7. I'm wiping the OS clean and installing iTunes clean, hopefully I'll be operational again.

hmmm, I may have a bitter pill to swallow. When reinstalling the OS I found that I actually had a failing drive, which is most likely the culprit for crashing and it just so happened to start failing around the same time as iTunes 11 upgrade and therefore iTunes may have been unduly reprimanded.

Nope, 10.7 is even worse. Although I now have a nice clean OS install with a new HDD, so the entire machine doesn't crash, but iTunes dies over and over. The WiFi sync seems to be the biggest problem. I'll upgrade it to the current version now that I know that it is just a windows release issue.

I guess Apple is doing to Windows with iTunes what Microsoft did to the Mac with Office ;-)

it was initially OK, but as I added more and more devices to sync with iTunes, it has become pretty much inoperable. I'm stumped as to what to do about it. It works on OSX, but OSX is otherwise pretty useless to me, especially the lack of xrdp and very limited storage on my Mac. I wouldn't want to even begin the journey of discovery that would be DLNA for OSX.

Answer appears to be, install it on a Mac. Running OK on OSX Lion, however Add Automatically to iTunes functionality is a little unreliable, but otherwise over after 3 day test period.

Sorry, that's not an answer to the original thread. The answer to the thread seems to be no more than two devices and it will work OK.
