For those with Surface RT's what are some good apps?

My favourites so far are:

Netflix,

MetroRadio which lets you log in to your Pandora account

Tunein which lets you listen to hundreds of stations around the world

Multimedia 8 which is a bit like Windows Media Center

PC Monitor which you can use to monitor up to 5 computers once you have the client software installed

Curious, as a developer how many RT apps are out in the marketplace at the moment?

Pulse News? If so, yes

And has Angry Birds Space but it costs.

I can't answer that with a definite answer, but there are quite a few. I change region setting in control panel so I can get apps from different countries. Changing back to NZ region still lets Netflix work as an example.

NB these apps can be used on any windows 8 machine - not just "surface RT" machines...

Pandora just released their WP8 app, i'm sure a "windows store app" is not far behind: http://techcrunch.com/2013/03/21/pandora-makes-its-windows-phone-8-debut-gives-users-ad-free-music-through-the-end-of-the-year/

I like the NZ herald app for reading news, my kids *love* the "wheres my water/wheres my perry" disney apps that i got free during some promo period.

If i had Sky TV, i'd rate their app... but i don't.

Xbox Smartglass is awesome if you have an Xbox. Unfortunately you can only use it with one xbox...

Twitter, ESPN Cricinfo, CNN, NZHerald, Skype.

@Regs I can control both my Xbox's with SmartGlass? They both get listed in the app. This was a while ago I tried but worked to push movies to it.

I have the Windows 8 Twitter app. Good $deity, that's awful. I am using a HP ElitePad 900 here... There's a Twitter notification so I tap that - the app opens and there's nothing to show, because the app itself doesn't download the latest mentions or messages. Sometimes I have to pull down three or four times to get all mentions - for example tonight I had a long discussion with a couple of people and sometimes each refresh would bring two or three replies, out of five or ten.

Seriously broken...

I cannot log into both Xbox's at the same time as the xbox live system automatically log off the last xbox it see's me logs into. But I have my gamertag saved on both consoles. So I can log in depending on which room of the house i am in.

Yeah the latest update for the twitter app which was pushed couple of days ago has broken few things for me as well. I logged off the app and logged back in and that fixed few things for me.

FYI - bought a Windows Surface RT 32MB with touch cover at JB HiFi for $849 today - does not have 3G, was wondering if a 2degrees mobile data USB would work on Surface RT or would you need special Surface RT app / software to get it working?

currently there are no drivers available for that

so your best bet is to WiFi tether/Internet Sharing, there are devices around similar to MiFi type units that will charge themselves off USB
