I am trying to install a couple of maths programs for kids on my Surface RT but after a while it just closes the store and goes back to the app menu.

Anyone seeing this happening today?

A restart solved it. Windows RT or not, seems to still need a restart now and then...

I actually wanted to use hibernate on my laptop but with Windows 8 is so much faster to just shutdown and start again... Granted Windows RT is a bit different and for tablets so I thought it would be more reliable at long non-reboot use.

I also have to restart my Windows Phone 8 once a week otherwise mail and Internet Explorer get a bit crazy.
