Hi Folks,
In win 7, when I connected my DigiCam or GoPro device, it comes up and prompts me what I want to do - usually I just select import, save to appropriate location (which I get to choose) and then delete files on device after import.

In windows 8, it comes up with the horrid photos app by default. I had managed at once stage to configure it so that it replicated the Win 7 features, but now with the Win 8.1 preview I can no longer do this.  Instead I have to close down the photo app and then switch over to the 'photo gallery' desktop app and choose import (and then figure out what my device is called).

Does anyone have an idea on how to 1) disable the photo app  and 2) configure windows so it always comes up with the old way of prompting me and importing the photos?


b.t.w before anyone suggests that the photo app works just fine, it does not allow me to choose a location, nor does it delete the files on the device after doing the import - the result is that it imports the same files every time I plug the device in.
