Has anyone had any success with joining WHS to a domain? Once joined, do all the functions work?

Problem i am having :

The only guide I found relate to WHSv1. Everything I've found for 2011 says you can't.

If anyone can't answer, Drashna on WeGotServed will probably know.

...none.

I'm very careful what I download direct to the server, and otherwise everything goes to it via a client (typically only my laptop). All clients are running Avast free.

What do you want it on the domain for?

It is possible to join a WHS 11 to a domain (from memory) but one needs to basically have a very good knowledge of windows server configuration and to be honest, I don't think it is worth it as it isn't designed for that.

Windows Server 2012 Essentials would be the option that allows the machine to be set up as a domain and also it can be upgraded to standard edition.

You can. But it will most likely break the server. I recall reading something on wegotserved that it is possible with some hacks. If I find the link I will post it later.
